hey, maybe the bush admin is banking on more problems, hoping... |
|
for more problems. has anybody said that no other takers were available for the operation of the ports? no other bidders? why not just let the republicans give away the rest of the country to all of their other, middle eastern crony friends & associates? what's wrong with that?
then when the 10th level of hell is called forth onto this temporal plane as a result of the mass, corporate, globalized, apathetic response to laissez faire oligarchic, excursion based venture capitalism on the part of we the people, we'll maybe finally know who to blame
fuck it!!

|
I don't. But here at DU there are a number of conspiracy people and there's no doubt that someone out there believes what you are saying. Of course, the selling off of American ports to potential terrorists is a real issue, so it may not be a great distraction.

9. that too, plus i can't help but to think that with all the secret shit the |
|
cheney admin is so bent on pursuing, they may have intercepted some threat and are, in a manner of speaking, so as to say, negotiating with terrorists; something they are said in public they will never-ever do but are in reality shitting down both pant legs to prevent by throwing money & contracts instead, and so, will do similar here with a cushy port deal that seems more commercial than military surrender of "battle hardened & hard fought ground".
i simply do not trust the cheney admin to convey any shred of truth. halliburton is known to be dealing with iran, and the bfee will deal with anybody BUT the american people. it is a lose/lose situation for us imo

12. As suggested in the OP, let them have it all, so things really go to |
|
hell, and that will (finally) change people, so that "we" do better at being citizens etc., to avoid adaptation by violence.
I say it's a gamble whether that good change would actually happen, so things could just get worse to no benefit on balance.

21. Not if you can actually live off of it and what it produces, ergo buy less |
|
We buy too much. That makes slaves of us, but you can't rewind the clock to simpler economies, and shouldn't anyway because you don't want to live without the advancements of commerce that save y/our life when you need it.
That's kind of a retreat too though, to the farm, away from a lot of what needs to be done to help others, which includes cooperative learning about change, i.e. the DU.

If you smile at me you know I will understand Cause that is something everybody everywhere does In the same language I can see by your coat my friend that you're from the other side There's just one thing I got to know Can you tell me please who won You must try some of my purple berries I been eating them for six or seven weeks now Haven't got sick once Probably keep us both alive Wooden ships on the water very free and easy Easy you know the way it's supposed to be Silver people on the shoreline leave us be Very free and easy Sail away where the mornin sun goes high Sail away where the wind blows sweet and young birds fly Take a sister by her hand Lead her far from this barren land Horror grips us as we watch you die All we can do is echo your anguished cry and Stare as all you human feelings die We are leaving You don't need us Go and take a sister by her hand Lead her far from this foreign land Somewhere where we might laugh again We are leaving You don't need us Sailing ships on the water very free and easy Easy you know the way it's supposed to be Silver people on the shoreline leave us be Very free And gone NO C'MON GO RIDE THE MUSIC C'MON RIDE IT CHILD

via the lowering of 'costs', when you show a corporation just how to do that; you take it out in the form of a gold & ruby encrusted para-sail upon which you are to glide as the 'costs' pile up behind & below you...your contribution thus will be ssome of what is seen today = a paper stock market supported by the hard dollars of other nations

by all account that is the republican way and they are too pig headed to change it for the better, or stop it, for fear of being called out as functional illiterates on the world stage. anybody see mary matalin the other day on 'meet the press'? she was using every sycophant buzz word & phrase, "you went all jihad yada-yada" "maureen dowd the diva of 'the smart crowd'" one pissy little mean spirited girl running everyone in circles (how can carville stayed married to such a point of view ) yet this is how they think, they think they can badger the point into submission; what am i talking THEY HAVE BADGERED THE POINT INTO SUBMISSION!!!
civility is undone. it is well past time for the dumb to meet the smart imo. in the breach we are to have a roiling boil of a social instability and somehow be happy with that = humbug!
