1. Sir Ian McClellan is why I can't wait
As nice appetizer I suggest Richard III. Great film with some similar themes I would bet.

I think they are loosing control of their well oiled machine....

Announcing the selling of the ports (however you look at it)
The fact that the ports were under British management...A lot of neocons did not know this and they are pissed.....

With all of the other issues they have...Iraq, Katrina...

5. I agree, but remember that we're living in bizarro world right now
A place where the people blindly support their government no matter how much evil shit they're able to get away with, but they support "Christian values" (whatever those are).

9. Old movie plot: convince Italian immigrants they could trust the police.
The premise was that America was not like the old country so they needed to go to the police rather than pay for protection.

I suppose that things aren't that bad yet, but the incident with Homeland Security Agents and the library patrons shows they're working on it.

10. Governments have no reason to fear
as long as we allow movies to talk for us.

I don't know the story from top to bottom, but from what I gather, since it is illegal to do what they do in the movie, the government has even less reason to fear.

I'm guessing Cheney and Rumsfeld will sit down with some pop corn and watch the movie. Have a nice big laugh too, as they take a couple more million.

11. Agreed. We are the government or should be. I think we must become

more active in our government.

Many who have captured what is too much power and influence, along with the corporations have been active for years and decades to grab the power and remove government from us as citizens and Americans overall.

As we are learning, there are those who don't like to "share" and have never been taught anything other their own selfish needs. So, its up to us to get others involved and become more involved ourselves in our governing bodies.

12. Serious inquiry
What governments do DUers think were fearful of their subjects and sought to mollify them by providing good governance?

I can't think of any off the top of my head.
