All I can say is WOW! We had between 200 and 300 people and afterwards, the organizers had dinner with Cindy, Ann Wright, Mimi Kennedy, David Rovics and others. I'll blog about it on houstondemocrats.com tomorrow, but just wanted to share these with you tonight:

3. So I take it that "insider" Freeper who planned to disrupt didn't do so?

4. We had two freepers standing in the crowd

but they eventually went away and were not really disruptive. Another followed some of us to the restaurant and tried to crash our party. We had a private room and the owner of the restaurant kicked him out. We called the cops to watch him when we were leaving to make sure he didn't try to follow anyone home. Otherwise, everything went as planned.

9. We had a private room at the restaurant - there were more than

thirty of us. He came in holding a sign that said "I support President Bush and our troops" and walked the perimeter of the room a couple of times. Someone yelled "Then why don't you go to Iraq" at him and we all started chanting it at him. The resaurant's manager asked him to leave and walked him out. He told us "I'll be waiting for you in the parking lot". So we called the cops to make sure he didn't try to follow anyone home.

6. That would be her! She's incredibly nice and down

to earth. When I met her, she really didn't expect me to know who she was. She told me her name like she was no one I ever would have heard of before. She watched my purse when I went out to my car to get something since I didn't want to have it with me with the freeper parading around almost literally wrapped in a flag.

I've always liked Mimi Kennedy as an actress, but never knew anything about her political views. However, after reading your posts today, my admiration and appreciation of her has jumped 1000%! Woo Hoo!

14. I saw her in DC last September

after the big peace march I was having drinks with DUers - I think we were at RFDs - and we saw her on the sidewalk hanging out with some folks. Didn't talk to her or anything - I almost forgot about it completely until I saw this thread!
