Question about precinct fundraising...

Was thinking about trying to start a dem womens group or club and was wondering what kind of things could be done for fundraisers besides bake sales.

1. silent auctions at an event, Dems, candidates, office holders can

contribute items for it.

2. A friend and I held a rummage sale for kids in Belize and raised $500 with

only about 2 days work last year.

Friday eve, sort/price, put on tables

Saturday hold sale, collect $$$

We are doing another one next month.

People love getting rid of stuff, but make sure to state NO electronics and only good, useable items as donations with the new garbage dumping laws.

People dropped off their stuff on Friday eve and my friend's husband also picked up a few truckloads.

It was easy as it did not involve asking people for money which seems to be in tight supply lately.


More work would be a dinner/dance which another friend of mine did quite successfully when she raised $$$$$ in Minnesota years ago.
