I'm worried a Repub reform movement will capture conservative America |
|
AGAIN. I'm worried another Contract With America will drawn up, championed by rightwing media, and worshipped by 'Mercuns, resuulting in a no-gain 2006 and another, possibly legit win in 2008. In fact, I'm wondering what's taking them so long to do this. "Journalists" are just sitting there, pen at the ready, waiting for some Republican Reformation. I see this as a race and I fear we will come in last again. Anyone else worry about this?

1. They may not want to reform. They like lobbyist-paid trips. |

2. That's a hard sell. What are they going to do? Bring ethics charges |
|
against their leadership in both houses?

5. More like I think so many voters are anxious to see good |
|
in their Republican leaders, and even a sort of break-away contingent formed around, say, being against the selling of the ports, will constitute a "reformation" of sorts, cover stories about congressional upstarts, a flowering of newish conservative names. Of fuck it. I'm flat out worried that a republican is going to get smart and start speaking out BIG TIME about "real conservatism" and "we've lost our way," type shit.

9. Not enough time to pull that off I think. That would be a good |
|
stratedgy for 2012 though.
A few local congress folks might be able to pull that off, especially if they have a record of voting against some or many of the Repo major screw ups, like if they voted agaist the Medicaid bill or a few things like that.
As a national campaign though, it would be a little like Abramoff becoming a born again Christian and running on a reform ticket. It won't fly at this point.

4. I am so sick of this pandering to so called conseratives. |
|
This administration has no values. They will try anything, the trust is lost.

8. The question is how would the Democrats respond. If they don't |
|
respond hard and on message then the Repubs will win.
