Okay I know ..... this article is dated Feb 2nd 2006, (bout 18 days ago) but I couldn't resist. Couldn't pass up the opportunity to wave this in front of any lurking Freepers in hope that some of their heads explode. :rofl: ...... I mean with all the Iran gonna get da bomb propaganda! And now da UAE got control of our ports! Freeper computer screens should be covered with blood and brains over this article, ya think? :shrug: Personally I believe Iran is years away from 'da bomb' ...... but with the 'Oil Bourse' coming online 1 month from today, the day the UAE gets it's nose in our ports .... could it get any more surreal? Iran, UAE Explore Expansion of Trade Relations

Iran and UAE explored here Wednesday ways of expanding bilateral trade relations.

Iranian Commercial attache in UAE Qassem Mirzaie told IRNA that the meeting focused on expansion of trade ties between Iran's Mazandaran province and Dubai.

The meeting was attended by over 50 private and public officials of the Mazandaran province who discussed removing hurdles in expansion of investments and trade relations.

Mirzaie who is also the head of Iran Trade Center in Dubai said that the UAE official stressed that the Iran-UAE trade exchange which stood at dlrs 3.3 billion in 2005, should be increased through holding trade exhibitions. -snip-

5. In fairness to the UAE .....

they have stated recently they are against any Nuclear Weapons in the Middle East, including any acquisition by Iran. And they and Iran are in dispute over a couple of Islands (ownership) in the Gulf. But other than that they seem to be good neighbors trying to work things out.

6. Just to kick this out there once more this morning ........

I'll make my final points.

1. Two of the Hijackers from 911 were from the UAE.
2. Money to finance 911 went through UAE Banks.
3. The Company now taking charge of these U.S. ports is UAE Controlled, Government Owned not Independent.
4. Only 4% to 6% of the cargo coming into our ports is ever inspected.
5. UAE was one of three countries, along with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, to recognize the Taliban as the official government of Afghanistan.
6. The UAE was an important transfer point for shipments of smuggled nuclear components sent to Iran, North Korea and Libya by a Pakistani scientist, Abdul Qadeer Khan.
7. Other reports state that ..... Al-Qaeda recruits, travels and wires money through the UAE.

Before my own head explodes I can only draw this last conclusion ..... this deal has just about put me in the 911 MIHOP clan Mr. Bush. And if I see the excuse that being against this port 'deal' is spun into some sort of 'racism' .... then yea I can truly say that now I've seen it all. I'm out. Peace. :)
