'God says that there's a time to live and a time to die.. it was their time to die.'

Miles let this delusional guy go on and on and on w/'god this and the god that'.

And CNN keeps replaying it. :puke:

Its on right now, again, 10:46am

1. What God wants, God gets, God help us all.
I'm sure that's great comfort for all those affected by this. :wtf:

All these guys are dead, and the last one's not out of the woods yet, and they call it a miracle?

This is one sick god.

5. It's funny how it all works out in the end.
Anyone who is saved by tragedy was blessed by god on their side and anyone who dies has to accept it was god's plan. I laughed last week when some guy stood in front of his charred and completely destroyed house in Oklahoma and thanked god he was spared. This guy lost everything but his life and he thanks god, never questioning why god took everything from him in the first place. It's all god's plan, I guess.

and makes for a fairly docile and obedient voting block as well.

6. Last night, Anderson Cooper was going all squishy and
spiritual during an interview with a niece of one of the miners while the search was still going on. It wasn't just interviewing to find the facts. It was very strange, you know, like the clunk of a dead piano key.

Next, I was expecting a sighting of a virgin mary stain on a wall or plate glass window somewhere nearby.

That only leaves one solution: invade Heaven. Wait, I'm sorry, "liberate" Heaven.

33. Don't laugh, I think that comes after they own the world including
Boardvalk and Park Platz. Reagan and Nixon have probably got Hell so messed up by now, that we could "liberate" it too in two weeks, using all that money Hell makes selling it's oil to pay for the entire war, and the devils throw entire rose bushes at the liberators next time.

:scared: Helliburton can hardly wait.

Armageddon can't be far off now according to Jimmy Swagger and them other moneychangers he hangs out with.

When Jimmy "hangs out" it always stimulates the boom booming economy down in the local red light district, they say.

He was obviously very upset and in shock. I'm sure he wasn't in the right frame of mind to give a "rational" take on the situation. But, I do think the press has played up the "miracle" and "spiritual" part of the story a little too much.

21. Blaming God beats blaming the company
And CNN knows which side whereon their bread is buttered. So in the shocking aftermath of a horrible tragedy, the first words CNN wants to get on the air is a meaningless platitude ripped out of its context from the book of Ecclesiastes. The more serious among us, who would like to know why the mining company figured that paying $3,600 in fines for safety violations was more important than safeguarding the lives of its workers, is for another day. Another day far, far into the future. To be discussed far away from West Virginia or Kentucky by people who don't know anything about coal mining.

26. Corporate whores in general
I mean, you start wondering if one corporation is a bunch of heartless greedheads, more interested in squeezing an extra buck out of the operation than in making sure its workers are safe, and you know where that leads: Communism.

Thank God for CNN, heading off any lines of reportage that might lead to such nastiness, eh?

35. exactly
I had MSNBC on last night, and there were bucketloads of God talk. I had to check my remote to make sure I wasn't watching the 700 Club.

All of this religion obscures the fact that it probably wasn't "God's will" kinda stuff that caused this tragedy, but the greed of the mining company. I'm sure General Electric preferred the God over greed mode of broadcasting and directed their minions accordingly (Rita Cosby was almost on her frikkin' knees - sickening).

We've got 'bosses' that're so damned clueless and so many layers removed from having any personal hands-on experience that it's no wonder they resort to superstition and blame.

The tragedy is horrible. This man has a faith that comforts him, I am happy for him. Having said that, we do not nned to hear repetitions of Bible verses every twenty minutes and qualify it as 'news'. Just my .02
