Cut up your Bank of America & MBNA credit cards
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/business/industries/banking/13529871.htm

Bank of America buys up MBNA (Lerner Family ..... Ohio Bush Backers) and
lays off 6,000 employees. If you own a credit card from any of these groups you are putting money
into the pockets of really bad people.

1. Randy Lerner must have made a boatload of moola selling MBNA
I hope it doesn't end up in the accounts of AEI or the Bradley foundation.

credit cards. Most they can get is 25%.

15. Sorry, they pay my partner's wages
and give us domestic partnership benefits. There's no way I'm going to leave B of A.

21. Condolences
Worst bank I ever used was Bank of America. Has nothing to do with politics, they were the most expensive, least responsive, and most aggressive with their advertising blitz.

6. Haven't dealt with them for years
BofA is directly responsible for 10's of thousands of job losses. These predatory bastards buy up smaller banks and dump everyone out on the street and give their own management a nice pat on the back and a kick ass bonus. Merger-mania is alive and well with these scumbags.

17. Think BofA is bad, check into Chase Morgan.
They kept acquiring banks until I had 6 figures unsecured debt with them.

We went to Washington Mutual--very user friendly and economical. I'm told that Wells Fargo is among the least consumer friendly. My bk attorney said they will freeze your accounts even if you have no outstanding credit with them and they'll raise your interest rates if you make a late payment on SOMEBODY ELSE'S credit card.

27. Yes, I love Washington Mutual.
DH and I had B of A for those years we were RV'ers because it was easy to access money no matter which state we were in. There usually was a B of A somewhere in the vicinity.

The credit card was a left over from those days, but I don't care for their usuary interest rates and I really hate MBNA. I refuse to have any credit card that they back.

It seems lately that I've been using mostly my American Express card for convenience and small purchases only. Also, CostCo doesn't accept anything but American Express.

8. I have one, but...
I will continue to use it as I always have... exactly how they DON'T want you to; i.e. any charges made on the card are paid in full within a month, and there is never a finance charge. They just hate that, but that is what I always have done and will continue to do. I think this works better than dropping the account.

10. They want to be to the banking world .....

what Wal-Mart is to the retail world. A collossus devouring all the competition.

12. They make between roughly .5 and 2.25% of whatever you spend on the card
depending on their agreement with the merchant.

You're still making money for them even if you pay off your balance.

Join a credit union if you really want to keep your bank's profits local.

and I intend to stay that way. It was a colossal struggle...but they are not getting one more dime of interest from me. Instead, I use THEIR money for 30 days.

14. Took advantage of one of those "no interest for first year"
offers I get in the mail from banks, and transferred my MBNA balance to new card, then canceled their dirty little card years ago. I pay off credit card balances every month, but just wanted MBNA to know I was transferring out.
