"I want those who are questioning it to step up and explain...
why all of a sudden a Middle Eastern company is held to a different standard than a Great British company. I am trying to conduct foreign policy now by saying to the people of the world, 'We'll treat you fairly.'"

BECAUSE YOU HAVE SPENT THE LAST 5 YEARS BREEDING XENOPHOBIC REACTION NOT SEEN IN THIS COUNTRY SINCE WORLD WAR II!?! NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN WE ARE TO EMBRACE THE REGION AND CULTURE IN THE NAME OF 'FREE TRADE'?!

There must be some awfully confused freepers out there in bizarro-land today.

Memo to White House: Have Karen and McClellan double check the talking points memos, because they indicate very transparent overlaps.

8. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that a foreign GOVERNMENT
owns this company as opposed to a public company before that.

9. Simple, because our great leader had these words for our nation
after his failure to protect Americans on 911:

We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them," Bush declared on 9/11/01.

Members of his cabinet have stated the following:

Two days later, Paul Wolfowitz argued that the war would focus on "ending states who sponsor terrorism."

And as Wolfowitz deputy, Doug Feith, later told the New Yorker, "the principal strategic thoughts underlying our strategy in the war on terrorism is the importance of the connection between terrorist organizations and their state sponsors."

Some facts about the UAE:

– The UAE was one of three countries in the world to recognize the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan.

– The UAE has been a key transfer point for illegal shipments of nuclear components to Iran, North Korea and Lybia.

– According to the FBI, money was transferred to the 9/11 hijackers through the UAE banking system.

– After 9/11, the Treasury Department reported that the UAE was not cooperating in efforts to track down Osama Bin Laden’s bank accounts.

We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them," Bush declared on 9/11/01.

Love it! It needs its nose rubbed in this one.

Bush is no longer a human being, he is an "it"... I shall forever refer to him as "it" from today on... besides, it's much more ladylike than "stupid fuck-tard"...

:)

Edited on Tue Feb-21-06 06:39 PM by Virginian
The Great British company was a PRIVATE or PUBLIC company that had its headquarters in UK.

The Middle Eastern company is OWNED by the GOVERNMENT of the UAE.

Why isn't this an American run business? Maybe, at least, they may hire some Americans and these people stay with any owner. I bet the UAE brings in scabs if the Union strikes.

17. Fuck the British company too!
If I'd known about that, I'd have objected to it before now. And if Brits don't want their ports run by American companies, I'm 100% behind that too.
