3. It was George Stephanopolis. He said that the sentiment he heard
from both sides of the aisle and up and down the political spectrum was that if Bush vetoed legislation to stop the port transfer, they (Congress) would be happy to shove an override right down the Bush Administration's throat.

5. That would really be fitting, wouldn't it? The first time he uses
his veto power in over five years in office and it is overridden by Congress.

4. Ah, I see now.
The "middle-eastern company running the loading and unloading of cargo at American ports" issue.

I get it now.

8. What other veto threat could there be from a president who has...
never vetoed anything before? :)

will let him ignore any and all legislation to stop this deal.

12. If Congress has 2/3, then they can over-rode a Bush veto.
If there is no Congressional action, then the deal will go ahead.

11. I just heard that too
It's astounding that Congress is going to finally step up to the plate and say No to this President;do their job.
Now if they would start some meanigful investigations in regards to all his other high crimes and misdemeanors maybe then my faith in Government could be restored...
