UAE has no plan to normalise ties with Israel

Bush took us to war with Iraq and Afghanistan to protect Americans from terrorism and to protect our interests in the region, ie Israel & oil.

Then tell me, how does selling our ports to the UAE protect our interests, when the UAE refuses to recognize Israel, our most important ally and a big reason why we are having a war on terror to begin with?

Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defence Minister, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has categorically refuted the allegation that the UAE had approved Israel's request to open its representation office in Abu Dhabi. He said that media report was baseless, as "the UAE has no intention nor a plan to normalise ties with the Jewish entity until the Palestinian issue is totally resolved in a just and comprehensive way, which will return to Arabs all their rights." Sheikh Mohammed made the statement in an open discussion with the press, which he held in Beirut last Thursday on the fringe of the 10th Arab Investment and Capital Markets Conference.

The open discussions were held in the presence of more than one thousand audience, including economic, banking and media personalities. He said the UAE was moving smoothly towards "the shores of security and has no fears for the future because we plan and study well before implementation and all what you see today in Dubai do not exceed 10 per cent of the planned projects. We are just at the beginning. We have taken the first step, which will take us to the end of the road, God willing," he said. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
