How come we can't control our own ports? |
|

10. the jobs are filled by Americans |
|
unionised Americans, it's just the profits that head elsewhere, if US companies can do the same thing all over the world why on earth shouldn't other nations be able to invest in the US

2. If it's being outsourced, look for justification in money |
|
Either it's more cost-effective to let foreign companies run our ports, or there are shady deals behind the scenes to leverage money & power, or both.

3. i thought cost effective were of no import to Bushco? |
|
I don't understand allowing any foreign government no matter who they are being in charge of running our ports. Whats next--the airports?

5. Cost-effectiveness is very important to BushCo |
|
...if it translates into profit for them or their business buddies. That's why so many US companies have outsourced their jobs to Asia and Latin America with Bush**'s blessings. Pay less for the employee, put more cash in the bank.
As regards this particular issue, I don't know if US port operations are put up for tender or how it works. But you can bet that no matter what, it boils down to who gets the $$$ at the end of the day -- not who's best for the job.

whenever possible. They will do anything to avoid environment laws - if they can fix it outside the U.S.

to invest here because we outsourced everything of value.. Boeing is going next.. that should be stopped because it could start a massive DEPRESSION in the North West.. which would spread all over the country
