7. must be...why would jimmy carter go along with bush on anything?
i mean, we need carter to explain it's all a tempest in a teapot like bush needs another asshole! why in hell does jimmy even say anything? unless carter's just being mischevious (putting those repukes who say they against the deal on the spot, what with 'despised liberal' jimmy carter supposedly supporting bush - carter almost certainly knows the real terrorists are the bushviks themselves, putting alciada up to whatever bush wants, so having the UAE own the physical ports hardly means anything anyway)

2. This is the only quote I can find
''The overall threat to the United States and security, I don't think it exists,'' Carter said on CNN's The Situation Room. ``I'm sure the president's done a good job with his subordinates to make sure this is not a threat.''

http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/nation/13921401.htm?source=rss&channel=miamiherald_nation

I think that's rather neutral. To say he's *sure* bush did a good job doesn't actually imply support. It does offer us the opportunity to question the kind of "job" bush did and keeps the light on the issue.

Maybe he said more than that, but I haven't seen it yet.

5. Wrong Jimmy, Bush Just Found Out
never checks with his subordinates, assumes they are all doing "a heck of a job" when in reality they don't have a fucking clue.

This president hasnt' done a good job on anything.

Jimmy needs to watch today's Oprah.

6. Yeah, The Arabs Love Us
we've seen them celebrating the USA all over the world.

I know there's plenty of Arabs who do like America, I just can't get out of my mind - I watched Frontline once and two British Arab women in there early 20's, said they admired Osama bin Laden more than Bush and hoped more attacks would take place in Britian and America.

10. Holy shit! 2 women spoke in support of Bin Laden!
That means all Arabs must want to attack America!

15. These 2 Women
yeah, they are the only two Arab women in all of Great Britian who voiced support bin Laden vs Bush. I'm that naive.

If Bush's poll numbers are in the 40's, how many people did they poll do arrive at this? Those two women, and I left out, they said all their friends felt the same way - represent a larger amount?

What percentage of Arabs in the world do you think would like to see more attacks on America vs not? Take a wild guess!

4. Carter doesn't disagree with bush, just because he's bush
Carter is a man of integrity and when he speaks out against something bush is doing, it is because he disagrees with that thing, not just because it is bush doing it.

I think Carter is wrong on this issue, but he's entitled to his opinion.

8. I think that Jimmy, being an honorable man,
can't allow himself to consider the awful truth. He would never sellout our national security, so he can't imagine that any president would.

Our ports are vital to our national security. They should be owned by the American people.

He understands the difference between a legitmate security risk and paranoid xenophobia and Islamophobia...

14. We aren't "selling" our Ports to UAE... But I strongly disagree with
Carter on this. He works for peace...he thinks this will help Peace. His foundation takes money from Arab Countries along with others. But, Saudi Arabia has contributed to the Carter Center.

16. "We aren't "selling" our Ports to UAE"
Thanks for saying it. I disagree with Carter on this as well, but there's so much misinformation flying around on this.

As fara as Carter goes, I think he's just expressing his opinion which he has every right to. I don't agree with his opinion, but I don't expect him to agree with me on everthing.
