Seinfeld, Letterman and Stewart turn down White House Invites
http://tvsquad.com/2006/01/04/comedians-decline-invitations-from-whca/

Apparently, the White House Correspondents Association is having a tough time finding a headliner for their annual super-dinner. Jerry Seinfeld was the first choice but he declined (not a Bush fan?), as did David Letterman and, get this, Jon Stewart. Now, it seems to me that one would have had a better chance of getting Jon Stewart to pop out of a cake at Tucker Carlson's birthday bash than to have him politely mingle with Bush and friends.

Hey, WHCA, have you called up Lewis Black yet?

has a new Dennis Miller "concert" coming up. Doubt if I can stomach watching his smirky, smug self to see if he's moderated his groveling for Bush.
He's such a fake, he'll probably crabwalk his way back to the middle and hope people have forgotten how he was Bush's doting girlfriend the past few years.

77. they were probably nauseated by *'s attempts at "comedy"
... the type of antics which Bush puts on when he fancies he's being entertaining. Pretending to look for WMDs. Coming out with put-downs of his wife and kids -- "she's so servile", "they're such brats" (that kind of stereotyping went out in the 1960s, Dubya!). Showing off a tiny scratch, in front of a group of amputees and burn victims. Blurting out wildly-inappropriate remarks, e.g. "I hit the trifecta", or "There's one terrible pilot".

As professionals, they could grimace politely, like an Oscar nominee being forced to sit through some hokey amateur pageant. At least until their rising sense of outrage compelled them to do or say something. (Most comedians do have a social conscience -- look at Jon Stewart's eyes during his Katina coverage ...)

Oh my f'ing ! Lewis Black does a rant and takes out masses of reporters and Bush/Cheney. No one is left standing or seated, they're all on the floor. Then Black looks around and walks out.

This is such ahappy scenario.

106. WH Correspondents Assoc. wants humor?
They should all just take turns reading their own stories about WMD, BushCo, etc. They could take turns laughing at each others' stupidity, irrelevance, gullibility, bought-off favoritism, and general fuckedupness. Call it graveyard humor.

112. Bush* is funnier than any comedian that they could ever find.
They don't need impersonators with him in office. I can rarely watch a speech of his without bursting out laughing, since what he says and the way he says it are just so ridiculous.

But, these days, I am spending much more time cursing him out and trying not to put my foot through the TV screen...:grr:
