My good neighbor just sent me this, the same guy who drives an EV
of his own making using a geo metro as a base, to help with the cost of living. Can drive it 60 or so miles for about a dollar to recharge the batteries. I'm mad getting madder but give the fat cats some more tax cuts so it will spur on the economy. Pissed now.

I want everybody that I know, to know, how proud I am of our Bureaucratic plan D.
It has really helped me a bunch.

Last year, my Asthma medication insurance premium & all ran $560.00

This year under plan D, it will only cost me $1600.00. It saved me $1040.00 that I probably would have wasted on Propane to heat my home, or stuff as foolish as food.

Everyone that voted for this den of thieves, stand up & take a bow.

Thanks for taking time to read this. Feel free to pass this on to whomever you wish.

Sorry to bother you guys for posting this but I think you will understand.

1. As a fellow asthmatic I will be sure to fwd your regards to AARP.
Edited on Tue Feb-21-06 10:39 PM by niallmac
Maybe I'll pay AARP dues again one day but as of now my card remains in shreds since the day I read of their collusion with the White House on this
abortion of a medicare plan.

2. Awful.
Just....awful. Tell your neighbor that there are those of us in Texas who hear him and will help pass on his story to others. A cyber  to your friend seems inadequate, but I am most sincere.

4. Last week I talked with a 59 year old
woman who had fallen twice on the ice, and had thrown up after. She didn't go to the doctor because of co-payments.

The Health Assistance Partnership
www.healthassistancepartnership.org
Medicare Rights Center

8. not to sound like an ass...
but my asthma meds here in canada, cost me $8.41 / 30 pills.

or $100.92 a year, without the canadian coverage they'd be $85 a month.

Wasn't healthcare already fucked up enough in the states? How could he make it worse?

9. ahhh but you Canadians have horrible socialistic medicine dontcha know
Edited on Wed Feb-22-06 12:11 AM by flyarm
thats what the rethugs say as often as possible!!
My hubby worked in Canada for years and years..i always bought all my meds up there...and i never had to wait for a doc..and i get migraines..and i never waited in an emergency room like i do here in the states...

last migraine i had here stateside and i needed to go to emergency room to be knocked out..i waited 5 hours..to see a doc...

longest i ever waited in T.O. was 15 minutes!

but the rethuglicans love to dish out bullshit in piles!

a friend of mine had a heart transplant in T.O. and he had very little wait..

i always say to the American bullshit artists here who say Canada has socialized medicine...and that it doesn't work..how many Canuks do you know willing to give up their medical plan??

i know of none!

and without socialized medicine how many do we have with no health care at
all??? well over 45 million...

through my husbands employee plan it cost us $15,000. a year for medical!
the employer picks up 2/3 rd the cost!

i would trade for the Canadian plan any day!
i just got 6 migraine pills here and they cost $165.00..for 6 pills!

14. Hi Fly.
That is a mess.

I can't believe the way the GOP makes the Canadian System seem so third world. I used to think we were getting taxed to death in Canada as well, and my friend who works in the US, showed me after Federal, State and whatever extra tax, you pay about the same.

I guess the ever expanding military budget is seeping into all the funding for .... what are they called again?

ah yes, the voting constituents.

Sorry to hear about the migranes, sometimes they go away.... sometimes.

I "unsubscribed" the day they endorsed the Medicare plan. They sent me a new membership card recently but I sent it back with the word 'SHAME' written in red ink!

All those people in Congress who voted for this stupid plan ought to be getting emails and calls.

12. You stand as one more testament to the ineptitude. I say it is deliberate
AKA - sits up and says "we're Try'in" but really is just ripping the fruck out of all the folks paying taxes. Your beef is relevant and I wish you well. Write (email) your radio, TV and local politicos. Be heard. That is the only way we will impact these monsters.
