CNN Poll: 12% view Hillary as Conservative
Hopefully that 12% can stop her from getting the nomination.

1. What the percentages....
Edited on Wed Jan-04-06 12:06 PM by DaveTheWave
....that Hillary would admit, if asked, if she was a liberal?

Edited to add:
Which Democratic politician, Senator or Congressman would say: "I'm a liberal!"
Excluding Bill Nelson and Joe Lieberman

2. Well, she's not, so that would be lying on her part, wouldn't it?
;)

5. She would give some BS answer like:
"Aren't we all?" Instead of a "yes I am" which as you pointed out, would bring a fury of true liberals wrath.

12. no, she probably would say something obsequious

like she doesn't like labels.

But one cannot dismiss the irony that she is being vilified by the further left for not being something that the majority of Americans perceive her to be.

3. They're probably not asking Democrats only
so I don't know if this will have any bearing on the nomination process in '08

9. My point is that it's
Most defin not Republicans calling her "conservative", it's the TRUE democrats who really KNOW her record and see her moves to the center as the exact reason why we don't want her on our ticket.

We don't want a poltician who's afriad to show her stripes and has to pose as a centrist. We want someone who puts thier values about naked ambition and political calculus.

4. The most interesting polls about Hillary
are the ones that assess how many people would vote against her or for her if she was the nominee. The "vote against" group is always a lot larger that the "vote for."

7. I won't support her in the primaries but....
...if she does get the nomination and she's running against an asshole like Frist, I will vote with the party as I did with Kerry. It's just too damn important.

10. Yes...
Just like Bill Clinton was the best Republican president we ever had.

Myself I want a liberal, someone admits that corporations have too much power and don't need tax breaks and other goodies. We want someone stands up for the people -- the middle class who are gettins screwed over by policies advocated by the GOP and the DLC corporatists.
