"The Long War": Wars R US + "Pro-Life"?
Edited on Wed Feb-22-06 07:30 AM by patrice
Abortion is a "sacrament" for a culture/society in which Death is an Economic Commodity such as that proposed by Cheney et al in THEIR "Long War". Yes, there is a struggle over how to respond to Terrorism, but pre-determined answers (such as the Invastion of Iraq) disregard so amny Options. War does not work in stopping Terrorism anyway.

And "Pro-Life" advocates are Silent: What the hell DOES Pro-Life mean? Do you think we will hear an honest answer from Sens. Santorum or Brownback?

1. I totally agree.
Pro-Life

Where a brain dead women and a three week old embryo are more important than the lives of our sons and daughters fighting an illegal war!

10. Their and Iraqi's Deaths are a commodity in Cheney's Economy.
BushCo is trying to root War in the middle-class jobs base, hence all of the privitization and military contracting now in less than traditional areas.

3. "pro-life" means...
..."I can support racism, homophobia, personal and corporate greed, social darwinism, cuts in social programs, etc. - and still claim to be morally superior because I am protecting babies from their murderous mothers!!"

At least that's how I'VE always interpreted it.

7. It wasn't exclusively about Abortion when I first heard of it.

You've got it right. That's what pseudo-Pro-Life looks like.

Honest Pro-Life resists ANY but the most necessary violence. Angainst: War and anti-Capital Punishment, not to mention Violence as entertainment..

4. Fact is...
If we are going to fight wars we need enough people to fight them.

Unfortunately, once a body is dead it can not fight anymore. So, we need more bodies.

Pro-Life, for those that support the war, has nothing to do with any reverence for God's creation. It's a tactic to produce larger armies. Their religious references are just a sham.

This is not to say that there are not true Pro-Life people out there. But to be so, you must be anti-war.

6. I hadn't thought about Pro-Life that way.
Against Choice because they need everybody they can get for their side in whatever war (They CHOOSE!) at whatever level: full blown violence or more passive "cultural wars" or more aggressive cultural wars, like pressuring others to conform, ridicule and gossip..
