P-G LTTE: Diebold "welcomes scrutiny"
Diebold welcomes scrutiny: Our voting machines are accurate and secure

I am writing this letter as a lifelong resident of Mt. Lebanon and a senior systems engineer with Diebold, Inc.

The Diebold Touchscreen Voting system, manufactured in the United States, has been designed to meet the requirements of the Help America Vote Act legislation, aimed at improving the U.S. voting process.

Diebold has been at the forefront of the touchscreen system development effort and has refined the product to meet each new requirement. I have not been involved with the voting machine project, but I can draw some parallels to my business.

<snip>

And for the record -- I am a Democrat, registered and active since 1975.

GREGORY S. CARVLIN

from someone better versed than myself in the Diebold flim-flams.

On edit: "Lifelong Democrat" is the cover for freepers who call up CSPAN on the Democrat Line.

2. Then they should put their money where their mouth is and
let the states inspect their proprietary code!

Simple.

No more "take my word for it".

Because, every time there has been an inspection there have been many verifiable problems.

3. Mt. Lebanon is one of the.....
wealthier neighborhoods in the city of Pittsburgh. When he first ran for the senate this is the part of Pittsburgh Rick Santorum called home.

Enough said.

7. not to be picky, but...
Mt.Lebanon is a suburb, not a neighborhood in the city. Has its own school district and everything. I think it's a borough.

6. I have no problem with evoting as long as the terminal is just used
to print out your votes and someone counts the printouts (not a machine).

If Diebold made the machine though, I'd want to see my candidates name and photo printed on the ballot, just to be sure.
