PORTS: Now is the time to call Congress and demand Impeachment
Bush's base is on fire over this issue, we need to unite with them and call on Congress to impeach BUSH.

2. What are the grounds you propose for impeachement?
Out of curiousity?

Or is it just "Fuck Bush, let's Impeach" and that's your whole argument?

3. Take Your Pick
High crimes and misdemeanors does it for me. You could try for treason, but why take the chance?

4. What are the High Crimes and Misdeamenors
Bush has committed in relation to the port issue. Wherein did he break the law (it's going to be a hard sell as so many of our other ports are already controlled by other nations)?

5. The Point Is: Get the Hearing Started
Then bring in the crimes with evidence: illegal wiretapping, New Orleans, Iraq. Until it's scheduled on the House calendar, there isn't a prayer of starting the process.

6. Ah. So this is bullshit
You don't think there was anything illegal about the Port issue, but you hope to get a trial going.

Yeah that's a good plan. Except, why will the sorts of conservatives (racists and bigots mostly) pissed off about the UAE port deal stick with you when you rip into him on wiretapping and Iraq?

7. Actually, It's Policy, Not Bullshit
But if Paula Jones can be used to trigger Monica Lewinsky, then there isn't any reason why ports cannot let loose the dammed up scandals which are crying for inquiry. Sometimes God hands you a key--only the most ungrateful wouldn't use it.

13. Let me be clear, I think this is a key
But impeachment isn't how we are going to use it.

Frankly this is a double edged sword as many people have pointed out - it's certainly gratifying to see Bush twisting in the wind. But look at who we are getting in bed with in our attacks on him.

I just know that it's a smart thing to attack while the opposition is DIVIDED.

15. Damn straight
But attack in ways that make sense. If this is an impeachable offense make the case.

If it isn't than use it for it's rhetoric value to split bush from his base.

18. Yeah because anybody who disagrees with you must be a secret freeper
He lied before a grand jury. That was the grounds.

I know the law seems complicated and like you can just make up anything and go to trial, but really it's not quite that bad. They created a situation in which CLinton lied before a grand jury - thus criminalizing his situation. Was that reprehensible? Yes it was. But that was the grounds they used.

What grounds are we going to use? That he didn't allow the full time to review. You'll forgive me if I am not convinced that that is enough.

19. I didn't accuse you of being a Freeper.
If he did'nt follow the law then it should be investigated, yes. And there are a ton of other things to investigate as well.

I know it's not going to get to impeachment. I'm just saying CALL AND SAY YOU WANT HIM IMPEACHED, for any reason.

14. OK that's good
At least we have one law he broke - I don't know if that is enough, but at least its better than "His Base is Angry With him, so he must be impeachable."

23. Doesn't mean you can't CALL AND DEMAND IT
Where does it say anywhere that you have to have the votes to IMPEACH to call for IMPEACHMENT???

Lay the groundwork now, let Congress knows that the public wants him IMPEACHED.

8. There are tons of reasons.
Which are well known. This is another issue that shows that this president doesn't protect or defend our country. He protects foreign investors and royal families.

It doesn't matter that it won't happen. Just the fact that they are getting calls every week on impeachment sets the stage for when we can do it once we take back the house.

IF YOU CAN DREAM IT YOU CAN DO IT.
