B*sh's UAE stance is warming up the American public to IMPEACH |
|
We needed this kind of issue to bring around the majority to DEMAND the ouster of the incompetent, tyrannical Chimp.
As if outing CIA covert WMD operative Valerie Plame and warrantless spying on American citizens were not enough.
I think it's over for him this time.

12. I thik the difference is between |
|
passive support and active support.
A majority polled by Zogby did support impeachment before, but there was not a movement for it. I believe that the public is really, really angry about this and this issue will mobilize and motivate the majority to DEMAND it. It is also uniting the president's (former) fans and foes. He did, after all say he was a "uniter, not a divider". He may have done it this time- only his political demise is the shared objective.

3. You have to prove high crimes and misdemeanors |
|
Which the only one here is that he didn't allow for the right length of review. That might be enough, but probably isn't. Bryant Check it out --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

Those can get plugged in later, but the port thingie can be the tipping point.

6. This business with the ports |
|
might not qualify as high crimes and misdemeanors, but there are enough other things that do. The port thing may simply serve as the catalyst needed to get people behind impeachment. Once they're behind it, there are plenty of legal reasons for it.

I mean, he broke the 45-day "waiting period" law already. Is this not even on par with lying about sex?

11. That's why I said "might". |
|
I'm not a lawyer so I don't know for sure. My point is that whether it qualifies or not, it's a good point to rally public opinion around. Then, if it's not legally sufficient there are plenty of other things that probably are.

And anyways, nobody says an impeachment has to be about one single crime. It could be prosecuted on the basis of all of these things.
And the biggest breach is the total failure to abide by laws passed by Congress.

15. Impeachment *will* happen for NSA warrantless spying |
|
not for the port deal
my point is, America will be READY for it. Americans will be thoroughly disgusted and angry and ready to FIRE him.

10. The only defense they have is "You are being racist!" |
|
LOL.
The issue is a foreign government with ties to Al Qaeda who didn't cooperate us with the investigation into the 9/11 money trail wants to buy our major ports and Bush says : "Don't worry I looked into it. It's OK!"
"Nobody anticipated the leevies would fail!"
The Republican bses is divided and ON FIRE.
This is a huge winner for DEMS.

fuggeddaboutit-
out of the three incidents you mention(Plame, NSA, ports), thi ports thing is by far the least likely of the three to incite impeachment. there's nothing impeachable about it.

I said it is a warm-up to mass enlightenment and desire to FIRE him.
Once the movement is out there, Articles of Impeachment for NSA warrantless wiretapping will be much more palatable to the masses.

16. I think the STANCE is more damaging than anything. |
|
People across the board have issues with the port sale, for different reasons. I know some feel the only reason it is opposed is because of racism, and I'm sure for some that is why they are so against it. Personally, I don't know why we can't run our own ports, but that's really not the issue here. I think what is getting to people on the other side about this one is the way * is reacting. He doesn't care, doesn't want to listen, is going to do what he wants no matter what. Now, this was something that the Repubs and other cons admired about him. "Oh, look at how determined he is!" Yeah, whatever. It's fine when he's not listening to anyone else when he's doing what you want, but now that THEY want him to listen and he's ignoring them as he has been ignoring more than half the population of this country for his entire term, they have a problem with it. Now, it doesn't look strong -- they see that it is just hubris and childish stubbornness.
I really think that's what is getting to some of these people. I even heard a fairly conservative DJ on the radio this morning spouting off about how * just isn't listening to the people in this country who have concerns. He was upset and this wasn't a "talk radio" show. I think it's starting to show some people just want sort of a mindless jerk * is.

|
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11494815/the poor Chimp was uniformed... WASHINGTON - President Bush was unaware of the pending sale of shipping operations at six major U.S. seaports to a state-owned business in the United Arab Emirates until the deal already had been approved by his administration, the White House said Wednesday.
Defending the deal anew, the administration also said that it should have briefed Congress sooner about the transaction, which has triggered a major political backlash among both Republicans and Democrats
