If Homeland Security had been doing the job of protecting the US |
|
the issue of the operations of our ports would have been addressed long ago. I think the outrage among the average American, is that we thought(assumed) that safeguards were in place to insure safety....once again, incompetence rules and we learn that not only have the operations of the ports been overlooked, they are for sale to a foreign government...what exactly has Homeland Security been doing?

1. This is exactly the point that Kerry made many times during the campaign. |
|
Media ignored the issue completely, even though Gary Hart was speaking out on the issue for Kerry. The media couldn't have indepth discussions with Hart because it might look too bad for the Bushboy's image as a terrorist-fighter.
After all, it was the HartRudman Report on Global Terror that Bush refused to read when it was handed to him on Jan 30, 2001. Gary Hart knows EXACTLY how full of shit BushInc is on the terror issue and homeland security.

4. Elephant repellent joke |
|
Remember the old elephant repellent joke? #1: "You want to buy some elephant repellent?" #2: "But there are no elephants around here!" #1: "That just proves that it is working!"
That's the Homeland Security argument in a nutshell.

5. I was surprised to find out that our ports were owned by a |

British company. I guess I had always assumed that they were owned by American companies. I fail to see that this sale to the UAE can be a good idea for our country.

6. right..and if they werent before..we had looked into ways to correct |
|
the situation after 911...i think that is what most of us assumed (operative word here)...but I heard Boxer last evening on Scarborough saying that this administration had blocked every effort to address the port security...and i think that most of us are surprised...especially given assurances at the heckuva job * and his team of crooks are doing..
