Ways Bushies betrayed right/freepers besides immigration and UAE ports?
On these two issues, most on the right are vocally opposed to what the Bushies want to do.

On immigration, Bush has no excuse. His base (of voters anyway) want to seal the border and stop illegal immigration. His base (of donors) wants the flow of cheap labor.

Donors win.

That seems to be the case on port ownership even though there wasn't a pre-existing opinion (but the reaction could easily have been guessed).

What other issues has Bush thumbed his nose at the righties on in favor of his rich friends, or for any reason for that matter?

1. Historically, Conservatives have been for cuts in the size of.....
...the Federal Government. The NeoCons have greatly expanded both the role and the size of the Federal Government, and have added a complete new layer of red-tape known as Homeland Security.

2. Easy answer is spending...
But spending has a lot to do with who's in Congress, so the blame gets spread there.

Presumably even the freepers have parents. How are their medical bills these days?

4. I agree that program is a scam, but most righties are a little weak
on connecting bread and butter issues to politics--flag-waving and zenophobia occupy more of their thoughts.

5. True, until Granny Wingnut can't get her medicine, anymore.
Either because it's now too expensive or she simply isn't covered, even the dimmest bulb will remember that she WAS covered just last year until Junior changed the system - and yammered on about it endlessly. Then it'll fall on Sonny Wingnut to buy his momma her meds. Good luck with that, Granny! :eyes:

6. I would hope so, but wouldn't be surprised if they didn't connect dots
without Rush pushing the pencil.

7. A tax increase under the name "deficit"...
... combined with a shift of 1% of the tax burden (and responsibility for all accrued debt) from the wealthy to the middle class.
