A Feeling of Giddiness over the port deal
Edited on Wed Feb-22-06 12:58 PM by Peanutcat
I really can't help it! On one of my other sites, anytime anyone says anything against Bush and Co., we get labled liberal whiners. Now, with this port deal, seems most of those nay-sayers are on the same page we here at DU are. Even many of the most die-hard Bush supporters feel there's something fishy going on with this deal. It's all I can do not to say, "Nyah nyah nyah! I told you so!", but I'm trying to be better than that.

3. Oh, but I AM better than that!
Actually, I'm thinking about waiting a bit longer and letting them dig themselves in a bit deeper before I start gloating.

2. I'm sure the WH is working overtime with their strong arm tactics.....
to line up enough rethugliCON votes in congress to push this port deal through. It will be interesting to see which rethugs cave in or flip flop on this issue. Homeland Security is an absolute joke.

4. Yeah it looks like we can kick back and relax ...
take time to smell the roses ...
chill down a few cold ones ...
pop a bag of corn ...
set the remote ...
and enjoy the fun.
:toast:
I'm not going to lift a finger to try and stop this. I'm gonna let the Bush-bots handle the whole thing.

6. Who'd ever think
DUers and Freepers would be on the same page?

5. And it just gets better and better!
"I think the Bush administration has pretty much run it's course"

This from a die-hard conservative!

7. Here, let 'em read this---
excerpt from Forbes.com 04.12.04

--------

Still, "companies are playing fast and loose," says Adam Pener of Conflict Securities Advisory Group, a D.C.-based consultancy to multinational businesses. Halliburton, for example, manages to do business with Iran obliquely. Its Dubai-based affiliate, Halliburton Products & Services Ltd., allegedly has no Americans on staff; the Houston oil services company claims it has no direct ownership of the operation. Nevertheless, FORBES has obtained documents showing how Kala Ltd., the British arm of the National Iranian Oil Co., solicited at least 17 separate bids from the affiliate during 1997 and 1998 (when Vice President Cheney was Halliburton's chief executive). A few bids include handwritten notes that say "FOB Dubai Airport" or "FOB Dubai port"--meaning that the U.A.E. was just a way station between Halliburton and Tehran.
