1 – Write a letter to the editor of the LA Times
An article appeared in the Sunday (2/19) edition of the Los Angles Times called Tall, Green, Vital: L.A. as Mayor Dreams It. Let's send in as many letters as possible saying that if the mayor really cares so much about greening L.A. he should be using his time to save the amazing community resource and already existing green space that is the South Central Farm (see below for sample letter). Remember, the more we send in the more likely they are to print one or more of them on the issue and the letters to the editor are in one of the most widely read sections of the newspaper. Letters should be no more than two short paragraphs and must include valid mailing address and telephone number and can be sent to letters@latimes.com.
The article can be viewed at

Continue calls to the office this week. Demand that the mayor publicly address the South Central Farm crisis in a town hall meeting laying out how the city plans to save this incredible community resource and green space. Demand that he fulfill his promises to Green L.A. by protecting this incredible community resource. Two weeks ago when we began this call-in campaign it took only three days before the mayor was asked on live television about the farm and was forced to break his silence on the issue. His response was horrible but it was the first time in several years he even mentioned the farm. We need to keep the pressure on!
