Remember the John McCain torture "bill" incident in thinking of the ports! |

Remember when the truth was coming out about the torture going on and McCain made a "bill" on torture. I put quotes around the word bill because he basically just put the rules we already have in this bill and came out against torture. Bush threatened to veto it and McCain went up and "talked" to Bush and Bush ended up caving. That was out of Bush's character because he doesn't cave into anybody and he always acts like a spoiled brat. I think the same thing is going on here with the ports deal. Ever since the Terri Schavio deal the republicans have been trailing in the polls. The people have been not supporting Iraq and haven't been seen as strong on security but making things worse. With this it has a reason for them to be tough. On all the talking head shows they've only been talking about how tough the republicans have been on this. I watched Joe Scarborough last night to see what he said and he had three republicans and Lawrence O'Donnell on. O'Donnell was the only one who made the mention of Hillary's bill and the democrats. Everyone just ignored him. Whenever he tried to speak Joe talked over him and debating him while he let the other people talk and he told other people to wait while they were talking but did not do this for O'Donnell. He wasn't very strong in this either and just let them get away with that. Scarborough was swooning over how Frist has been doing such a great job with his leadership on the opposition of this. This isn't about money but about keeping power. If this was about money it would've happened AFTER the midterms because than Bush would only have two more years and he didn't have to worry about impeachment since the republicans would still be in charge. Look at all the polls in dealing with the republicans on security. They've been seen as weak and they needed an issue. So now they're going around and talking tough and macho and seen as stronger than Bush and not wimpy as they've been seen and as someone else mentioned as "reform" because of the whole Jack Abramoff deal. And again this is nothing more than 2006 midterms. Just look at the talking head shows for your proof.
