if it wasn't an election year? These soulless bastards in congress have let BushCo do anything and everything they wanted to do -- including torture.
I guess they get sudden conscience attacks when they realize the voters might just throw them out. Imagine that. They'd then have to work for a living. Well, at least those who have not yet stolen enough to live out the rest of their lives in comfort.

We can only hope. Bush is weak, they know it, and all they want is to be reelected. If they still go against the port deal even after the full court press that will happen today by the WH and lobbyists, it'll be for that one reason.

that this is a shiny keys moment for the Repugs. This issue lets the Repugs stand up and be horrified, and condemn the administration for selling our "security." It will play very well with the AmeriKan sheople. They will again see their Repug representatives, governors, etc has being strong on terrorists and national security.
