Bush: 'People don't need to worry about security'
President tries to calm uproar over ports deal

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush tried to assuage fears Thursday over a deal that would give a Dubai-based company management over six U.S. seaports, calling the United Arab Emirates a "valuable partner" in the war on terror.

"This deal wouldn't go forward if we were concerned about the security of the United States of America," Bush told reporters during a Cabinet meeting.

5. Rings true!
Take the words and change them to the opposite: "This deal would go forward if we weren't concerned about the security of the United States of America." The deal is going forward according to Bush.

9. Since none of them "knew" about
it until it was a done deal, why would they have been concerned about any security issues.

11. whose government - his or ours (Notice the "my government" in text)
Bush vows to answer Congress concerns on port deal 44 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush said on Thursday his administration would try to overcome congressional doubts over a deal for a Dubai company to manage six U.S. ports, which has provoked a bipartisan outcry.

"We will continue to talk to people in Congress and explain clearly why the decision was made," Bush told reporters during a Cabinet meeting.

Bush insisted that the sale of British-based P&O to Dubai Ports World based in the United Arab Emirates would not pose a security risk. He has threatened to veto any legislative attempts to intervene.

"This wouldn't be going forward if we were not certain that our ports would be secure," he said. "The more people learn about the transaction that has been scrutinized and approved by my government the more they will be comforted that our ports will be secure."

14. How did you post that screenshot in a DU post?
I finally learned how to take a screenshot, but I can only save them as Bitmap files--then I can't upload them to my online photo sharing server...

How did you post that screenshot in a DU post?

Very curious!

15. Hmm ...
Supposedly, if you open a .jpg or .gif file in any viewer or editor program (Adobe Photoshop, for example), then hit CTR-C (that's control and C at the same time), that will "copy" the picture. Then, supposedly, you can "paste" the picture directly into a DU "post a message" screen using the CTR-V (that's control and V at the same time) command. The picture file must be a .jpg or a .gif for this to work, I think.

Me, personally, I have my own internet server account. I find pictures, upload them to my server, and then link to them directly.

Hope that helps.
