they are similar to, but worse than, the National Enquirer. They take something that is most likely true -- cheney was drunk, bush said he didn't care about the constitution, etc. -- and then build a whole elaborate story around it, including names and quotes out of thin air
So, it's basically historical fiction.

This was posted yesterday. CHB is a source that says what we like but it is not reliable. If there is no link to the actual document there is nothing to back the story up.

I've always thought the Secret Service refused to discuss the people they are assigned to protect.

is not considered a reliable source by many here, but in this case, I hope there is verification of what was said in the article.

16. IMO, Captial Hill Blue is historical fiction |
|
they take things that are probably facts -- e.g., Cheney was drunk -- and build an elaborate story around it, with specifics and quotes that are completely out of the imagination of the writer.
The story rings true, because the basic kernal most likely is, but I personally would never trust it as a source, no more than I'd trust a TV movie about, say, Pearl Harbor.

Sometimes they are correct, but sometimes the blind squirrel finds a nut. Usually they print what could happen whether there are any facts to back it up or not. Cheney being drunk is VERY plausible, though.

Sorry, but SS will not talk about this period. If this came from CHB, then i wouldn't trust it.

|
Named sources? CHB has broke some stories that ended up being true. Does anyone doubt that the shooting event didn't go down exactly as they are stating it did? WTF? I know they are considered "gossip". But I betcha they have this story right.

21. The situation is this - corporate news exists to protect and promote, |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-23-06 01:07 PM by higher class
therefore we will bever know from them - they are big on people crime, not WH crime.
Other bloggers are more genuine and professional in their reporting and they probably have to chhoose what they are going to cover.
What CHB says rings true in the gut, but since Dick is such a secretive guy and they want to have a secret we can believe anything we want. No one is right. No one is wrong. We delude ourselves to argue.
My gut tells me that probably everything is true in the story, but the part about the SS talking and resigning is incredible is very difficult to believe. If true we have a breakthrough.
That's why we are who we are - sifters, guessers, speculators, And some are checkers.
In any case, the story is still alive and that is good because Mary and Dick, aided by corporate news, are vicious creatures.
In the end - Everybody is right. Everybody is wrong. Until it's checked.
