So we have a pResident that would rather offend us than a foreign country?
I keep hearing press snippets about how we need to reward the UAE with this port deal because of all their efforts and we do not want to offend them.

Let me get this straight, we lost thousands of people on 9/11 and many more in the illegal occupation of Iraq since then. We have been told how bad our security is but while we pour buckets of money into the airports, we hardly give any to the ports.

Our country has airports where you must arrive 2-3 hours beforehand because the screening process is so thorough but we are told is OK to allow a foreign entity to operate a port while only 5% of the cargo is even checked. 5% of our cargo is being checked while somehow Hong Kong manages to check 100% of their cargo!!!!!

I have heard today, on NPR, that all the laws were followed for this. Well I have heard they were not but even if they were - those laws were enacted many years ago and the government always likes to point out how we all live in a post 9/11 world.

I have read how a few years ago Forbes called deals with the UAE (and others) as "trading with the enemy". This is Forbes, a magazine that only deals with economics and yet they call the UAE the enemy!

There are enough factors here that politicians from both sides have expressed concern so it is not only a great many regular citizens of this country.

* comes out and says he will veto ANY legislation that tries to slow down or stop this sale. ANY. Let me say that again - ANY. The threat of the veto is a political middle finger * is sending to Republicans and Democrats.

We are not all supposed to be outraged and up in arms about this? It may even be a different case if we screened a 100% of the cargo. If we make hundreds of humans wait at an airport why can we not make cargo wait at a regular port? I assume we are just supposed to go along with all of this and possibly compromise our safety and not say a word? I guess we all need to STFU because * has stated there is nothing we can do about it anyway?

The veto issue makes me feel as if we are all being shoved out into the cold. We can all raise our voices and our representatives may try to pass legislation but * insists none of it will matter. * is now more concerned with possibly delaying a sale and offending a foreign country rather than representing the American people. One has to sit down and ask themselves why * is strong arming this country into a deal most of seem to want to at least examine if not put a full stop to. * is showing where his loyalties lie.

This is *'s Amerika - the government will take care of everything and just shut up and stay out of their way because they will do as they please anyway.

2. I am sure that is true but I am addressing the official media reason.
Whether it is about the Benjamins or about offending someone, the point still remains that they are being chosen over us.

6. That's because Bush is actually an agent of foreign governments.
Consequently, he doesn't give a squat about Americans.
