Iraq Vet Accused of Stabbing Wife 71 Times
http://apnews.myway.com//article/20060223/D8FURS180.html

Bare had returned to Fort Lewis from Iraq in April to recuperate from cuts and internal ear injuries in a grenade attack on his Stryker brigade unit in Mosul. He was there as a machine-gunner with the 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division.

His wife, Nabila Bare, 18, was killed July 12.

Witnesses testified that Bare had enrolled in treatment programs for anger management and combat stress after his return from Iraq.

5. Maybe the first 69 or 70...
were accidental, but 71? Nope - no accident.

2. Standards have been slipping for some time
It's no surprise there are so many willing to torture and abuse. And given the US army now has relaxed restrictions on criminals entering the forces, I guess there will only be more of these criminal actions, both in Iraq and Afghanistan, and in the US.

4. You've hit the nail on the head I think
People who join the army are taught to kill people, they are taught to be violent, sometimes, when you listen to people, you'd almost think these people are all angels - a lot of them aren't. I think the world knows that.

7. That's certainly true
People taught to kill however have the extra training.
