Who, in their right mind, WANTS to be Prez in 08???? |
|
WANTED: Person to perform the cleanup job after this administration. Once hired, must be willing to accept daily blame for the continuing, inevitable consequences of the present leadership. Note: Month long summer vacationers to Texas pseudo-ranches need not apply.
The clean-up job after this administration is just mind-boggling. The damage on the domestic, economic and foreign policy fronts is so pervasive it's beyond comprehension.
I'm not looking for names for 08 just wondering what type of person would even consider the job. You would have to have one hell of an ego to begin with...not that that's a bad thing. I imagine FDR had a pretty strong ego and that worked out well for the country. A visionary tempered with realism and the ability to work with and get the best out of others. The task is monumental with a high degree of likelihood that you will get blamed for the long-term radiation of this current (mis)administration.
Democrat, Republican or other: Who the hell wants it?

2. Do any senators out there have small egos? |
|
Or, any governors?
Or, about 3/4 of the House of Representatives?
even though who act humble must have pretty big egos if they think they deserve to be the most powerful person on Earth.

3. I ask the same about Mayor of New Orleans |
|
and yet there are about ten people who have declared to take the job. I believe Ray Nagin has done a fair job considering the situation and consequences of anything he says or does but why he would want to stay in the job boggles my mind.
But, totally different situation than POTUS. One sure thing in that gig, whatever you do will totally outshine your predecessor.

5. Or get continuous blame for the ongoing fallout. |
|
The of this (mis)administration have such far-reaching, negative, long-term consequences that it is inconceivable to me at this time where one would even begin.

But I'll need a substantial raise in pay over that paltry $400K and they'll have to let my son install a new sound system in Air Force One. We'll get that beast a thumpin'! Oh, ya, the new Secret Service uniform will be jeans and tennies!
