challenge.. Would the fucking Repukes please QUIT already? It's a dead issue, and somehow they've decided to dig up the dead horse and beat it some more.

Here's the blurb: (Not LBN, because it's dated Feb 21st)

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/government/article/0,2777,DRMN_23906_4484421,00.html

WASHINGTON — A U.S. Supreme Court decision today allows the fight over Colorado's congressional district map to go back to a federal district court.

Justices ruled that a three-judge panel erred last year when it tossed out a Republican-backed lawsuit challenging the map drawn by Democrats and approved by a judge in 2002.

The decision does not change the map, but it puts the ultimate shape of Colorado's seven congressional districts in limbo in the middle of an election year.

---

My opinion? I don't think so. The judge did NOT err when they made the decision. The law clearly says that the redestricting can OCCUR every 10 years, not every day, every month, every year, not even every 2 years either.

Hell, if I was the Dems in legislation, right now, I'd pass a PERMANENT and MANDATORY (and even send it to the voters for consideration to be in included in the Colorado Constitution) 10 year redistricting starting in 2010. If the Repukes aren't in power (which I doubt they will be) in 2010, tough titties.

No question about it. He needs to be indicted (already there), imprisoned, and stuffed into the nearest prison toilet and left for the dead.

5. Dems control the Legislature now.
If it succeeds, then the Dems will just have to gerrymander it back. Should only take a couple of weeks. As you say, tough tittie Repugs!

6. Again???????? GRRR. ARGH.
Who is bribing these judges? Are they subject to FOIA requests for their personal accounts?

I am so sick of fighting the same fights over and over and OVER again... is this a strategy? Make us waste our capital and political ammunition while they pull a Chinese marching over the border and breed dozens of morans by making women pop 'em out ever 11 months? So that eventually we can't fight because we're down to rocks and sticks?

Of course, we have tons of ammo right now... but we're "keeping the powder dry." :sarcasm:

8. I LOVE THIS QUOTE!
Justice John Paul Stevens dissented to today's decision. "Even though the District Court mistakenly believed it had no jurisdiction to hear the matter, its judgment dismissing the cause with prejudice was correct and should be affirmed," Stevens wrote.

Oh, stay healthy for at least 2 more years, Stevens, and you can retire with dignity when we have a Dem President.
