They burned down the dojo! |

In every kung fu or karate movie, there’s a scene like this:
Our Hero: Fou Leng! You have killed my parents. You were cruel to animals. You enslaved the people of my village for the past twenty years. You raped my sister. You have humiliated me more times than I can count. All that, I could live with, but now you burn down the dojo. You burned down my dojo! Yeeeeeeha!
(Our Hero boots the villainous Fou Leng in the head, proceeds to whup him good.)
Now, I’m not saying that the Shiites in Iraq are the good guys, or that kung fu movies are the best metaphor for politics or life in general, but it seems to me that the destruction of the Golden Dome is a my-God-he-burned-down-the-dojo moment. Up to now, the Shiites have contented themselves with a few revenge killings, and are pretty much waiting for us to leave. For them, this must be 9-11 x 1000.
They burned down the dojo, and now it’s on. This is hugh!

but the notion of kung fu movie scriptwriters. Your basic bruce Lee type. Of course that's a notion that's pretty much crazy! If you're not a fan of kung fu movies, you wouldn't have to get this joke--heck, even if you are.
Anyway, the metaphor was intended simply to say that they burned down the dojo, and now it's on. The Shiah majority in Iraq could probably have been kept in check by their leadership if the Sunnis had killed 10,000 Shiah, but destroying this one building proabably has the effect of killing a million Shiah, in terms of the sheer anger it will generate.
