How do you avoid or ban "recorded" political phone calls? |
|
I signed up for the do not call list and it seems to be working just fine! MOST of the unsolicited calls I used to get are gone!
HOWEVER...I still get quite a few calls that are just recordings, so there's no one you can say "take me off your list or I'll sue you".
Last night I got TWO from the NRA! I hung up as soon as I heard the name on the first one, but their damn machine called me back about an hour later!
How can I stop this junk????

1. The Do Not Call list doesn't apply to political calls |

I suppose the NRA meets the qualifications of a political organization.
Your only hope is caller ID (By the way, caller ID is making life really hard on political campaigns. In '04 we had a really difficult time at the phone banks. No one answers their phone anymore.)

2. Oh this qualified for political alright. The second call I listened |
|
long enough to see if I could get a contact to yell at. They were calling to advise me about some new House Bill and to call me congressman. I didn't pay enough attention to hear what bill or what their problem was, but that sure qualifies for "political"!
