All US kids under 5 should get flu shot, panel says
WASHINGTON - All children under 5 and older than 6 months should be vaccinated against influenza, a panel of U.S. vaccine advisers said on Wednesday.

The unanimous vote by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention‘s immunization advisory committee in Atlanta delighted pediatricians and infectious disease specialists, who have been pressing for universal flu vaccination standards.

"Starting with the next influenza season we will not only have children 6 to 24 months but all children up to 5 years of age," said Dr. Carol J. Baker, president-elect of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, who asked the panel to expand its recommendations.

Baker had only hoped to persuade the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices to recommend better vaccination of children with asthma. But she said the committee members decided to recommend that all children under 5 get a flu shot.

1. Did the repugs ever get that shield law passed...
for drugmakers?

If the drug kills citizens then the companies won't be held responsible!!

Just curious!!

8. Yes, Frist and Hastert inserted language into the bill
to protect against any liability against the pharmaceutical companies in the cover of darkness.

2. I hate this.
Any teachers want to tell me why forced vaccinations for the flu are a good idea? Shouldn't we only vaccinate for potentially life-threatening diseases?

6. Influenza is life-threatening for children under 5.
And adults over 50.

Actually, the Spanish Flu was more lethal for young adults than any other group. It seems their immune systems were so strong that they produced too great a reaction to the virus.

I don't see anything wrong with making a recommendation.

4. The last three years I've tried to get my kids shots, and every time
I've been told No, that they're either unavailable or saving them for the people who really need them.

So forget it. I'm beginning to think the whole thing is just a Big Pharma marketing campaign.

5. Will there be enough?
Unless the government also organizes an increase in production, there will be severe shortages of vaccine.

10. But you would be assuming that the * Cabal...
and political hacks would actaully plan for an projected event.

The only way they would actually increase production is if they are going to make a buck off of it..That is the sad truth of the * Cabal...

7. This on the heels of a recent study which showed..
that routine vaccination of the elderly has been entirely ineffective.
