1. Could I be breifed on what the fuck actually happened

I heard Dr. Girlfriend say they all made it out alive on MSNBC and yet this morning I heard on AAR 12 had died and one was in critical condition.

3. it's unclear. but possible explanation is that someone overheard a call

the rescue teams found the miners and called into the command center, someone may have overheard and misunderstood the call that the miners were found and at least one was alive. Someone told families who were holding vigil at a church and the rumor spread.

then, when the rescue team relayed that there were other deaths, the company was afraid to say anything until all the bodies had been recovered. That took 3 hours.

4. A guy came running out of the mine all breathless

and reported to his highness Anderson Cooper that 12 miners were alive. I have to say how sick I am at the media and the person who spread the lie that they were alive. More than 48 hours of non-stop coverage, more idiot reporters with tongues flapping in the breeze than I have ever seen. A sample: "Tell us what you are feeling." "No, really tell us what you are really, really feeling." I could only watch for a minute or two before becoming nauseated.

10. The media wasn't in the church when families there were told they were

all alive, that's where it started.

Although the media of course hopped on board and when they tried to get someone official to say something they couldn't get any info, except for the Gov saying "miracles do happen." After that the people who then knew the truth weren't saying anything for hours. Until finally the company admitted all but one was dead and even that news was reported to the media by someone who had been in the church where the announcement was made, not a company/gov't official.
