Gordon England - Yes, he was a recess appointment
Edited on Thu Feb-23-06 08:47 PM by burythehatchet

President Bush gave a recess appointment to Gordon England on January 4, 2006 to be deputy secretary of defense. The President had designated Secretary of the Navy Gordon R. England to be Acting Deputy Secretary of Defense, replacing Paul D. Wolfowitz whose resignation was effective May 13, 2005 so that he could assume his duties running the World Bank.

On April 7, 2005, the President nominated Secretary England as Deputy Secretary Defense. His Senate confirmation hearing was never scheduled.

And now he has the balls to say that critics of PortGate are endangering Americans.
