U.S. at war with Iran by year's end
Regardless of what happens in Iraq or with the Iranian's nuclear program, a confrontation between the U.S. and Iran is inevitable and do not be too surprised if it happens by the end of this year.

The recent bombing of one Shitte Islam's most sacred shrines, the Askaria Mosque is already provoking a rhetorical reaction from the Iranians, which are predominantly Shiite. Iran's government views itself as a guardian of the Shiite faith. If the clashes between the Sunnis and the Shiites of Iraq continues, Iran may possibly intervene militarily thus going to toe-to-toe with American forces. You may well see Iranian militants and soldiers fighting our own men and women in uniform. Does anybody REALLY think we should still be there now? The "we broke therefore we must fix it" notion is not going to work now that the stakes have been raised.

Iran has done a poor job in keeping their ambition to create a nuclear weapon ambition a secret. The same can be said about the Bushites doing a poor job in keeping their ambitions to go to war with Iran. Bush and Company are going to use the same playbook they used with the UN. They are going to spin it and spin it and then attack Iran anyway. "Shock and Awe II" if you will.

In any case, the results are going to be devastating for all involved. More American deaths, more Iraqi deaths, and of course Iranians maimed and dead. Also, unlike the Iraqis who had no real military, the Iranians do have a military. They have been steadily building up their armed forces since the end of the Iran-Iraq War in the 80's. Especially with the hardliners in control of Iran now, they will have no problem in being willing to fight Americans. The U.S. will not have an easy time. Iranians are a proud people and will not give up their country without a fight. Why do you think they have had a civilization for so long? A war U.S.-Iranian war has the potential to draw neighboring countries including Israel. It can also make cause for the Chinese and Russians to solidify an alliance to counter the U.S. and worst of all, the outrage Muslims will feel worldwide will intensify more. Creating more potential "martyrs for Allah".

All in all, I am not feeling very good about this year. World War III? I wouldn't bet against it. Let me repeat the question I asked earlier. Does anybody REALLY REALLY think we should still be in the Iraq? Let alone the Middle East?

2. I found the bombing of the
Shi'ite mosque as devastating as the Taliban destruction of the priceless Buddhas in Afghanistan. We need to get the F* out of the M.E. and leave other people alone, rather than inciting regime changes and civil wars.

3. Does this mean a draft? My old rich friends with draft-age kids may sh*t
I am talking wealth here, big time, and sons (and daughters) of draft age. I asked them if they would give up their tax cuts for the war. No, they said. I asked them if they would have their children serve for this Noble Cause that Godhead Bush has gotten us into. No, that's for others. What are they willing to sacrifice, I asked? Nothing, they answered. That's for us to sacrifice. But, they support the President. Unconditionally. My heart is broken. They seemed such good folks. But I can't hang with them now. This isn't always easy.

7. Well for the rich folks like that...
If they think that only the poor and middle class kids are going to war and their kids will not go they are sadly mistaken.

* and his Cabal avoided going to Vietem and they have flaunted it...it's not going to happen this time...

The rich are going to sacrifice whether they want to or not....When the draft is implemented it's going to include women and men up to 42 years of age.....

5. Hey Cascadian....I have been fearing the same thing...
The sleeping American sheeple have no idea the seriousness of what is going on....

A US war with Iran will undoubtably end up the same way the Russian vs Afganistan war went...

If we don't get our soldiers out and prevent * cabal from preemptive striking Iran..you are right it could turn into a WWIII with Nukes.

The US will go to a draft..we don't have enough boots now...

The * Cabal has never thought about the end results of their actions...and they have put the US on a collision course with something catastrophic.....

I am thinking Summer when it happens...

6. That is about the time I am thinking.
By that time, Iraq will be in a full scale civil war. Iran may actually end up sending their forces across the border. The soldiers of the U.S. Armed Forces will have one hell of a fight. Iraqi insurgents on one side and Iranian troops on the other side.

It's time for our men and women to get out now!

12. Will they close the borders before they resume the draft?
Because I am thinking a LOT of Americans will make a run for it. The warmongers aren't getting my sons!

20. Don't send them to Canada.
With the treaties Canada got duped into signing to counter "terrorism" and now a Prime Minister who is going to be Bush-friendly, your sons won't have a chance. I would encourage you to have them learn Spanish and go South. I do not think Mexican authorities are going to care if there are draft dodgers in their country.

14. I never thought about the provocation of military involvement by Iran.
That would be another reason why I believe it's possible the PNACers hands are in/on that bombing.

17. Plame + Ports.
Bush-Cheney outed Plame and so destroyed her network that tracks WMD. It's also clear that Bushco have cronies inside the Dubai Ports co.

Given these facts, it wouldn't surprise me if the neocon script for 2006 involves a nuclear incident on American soil followed by blaming it on Iran (or just the fact that Bush seems to be some kind of jinx whereby predictable and avoidable disasters seem to happen on his watch).

(This is obviously less likely now with the ports debacle so they may have to go with a contingency plan).

19. Bush is playing Iraq to escape US. investigations/scandals etc.
with the elections in November, again the war on terror is covering up for Bush's failed Washington scams.
Forget about Plame/Libby/Jackoff/ illegal wiretaps etc. - etc...!
