1. Needs time to cool off an get the MSM off the case
Then it will slip thru the radar and the useless DLC'd Demcoratic Leadership will avert thier eyes.

2. They don't seem to care what anybody thinks
They are going ahead with this deal. Did anyone else notice that after the first outcry from disgruntled citizens Bush peppered his next statement with talk of the Coast Guard still handling port security. Just today they added customs to those who will police the ports. What a bunch of rotten crooks.

3. Gotta give the WH time to hammer those talking points through
Pretty soon, all of the outrage on the right will be replaced by dittoheads spewing out the script.

5. Delaying "part" of the deal.
The didn't say which "part". The RW will approve of this deal after posturing that they can stand up to the Prez. The entire deal was a show.

6. How magnamious of them. THEY decide - not Bush. I guess after a short
delay, THEY will decide to go ahead with the deal.

7. They have only decided
not to take active role in managing the ports. They are still going ahead with the purchase. This doesn't do a thing to help Bush. Congress wants the 45 day investigation which was illegally circumvented and Bush can't do it because they have already signed off on the approval.

The only basis the law would allow them to "re-open" the investigation is if there was UAE fraud during the initial investigation. Bush is tied to the railroad tracks, the train is coming, and he ain't going nowhere.
