Bush's Mysterious 'New Programs'

Bush's Mysterious 'New Programs'

By Nat Parry
February 21, 2006

Not that George W. Bush needs much encouragement, but Sen. Lindsey Graham suggested to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales a new target for the administration’s domestic operations -- Fifth Columnists, supposedly disloyal Americans who sympathize and collaborate with the enemy.

Detention Centers

Plus, there was that curious development in January when the Army Corps of Engineers awarded Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root a $385 million contract to construct detention centers somewhere in the United States, to deal with “an emergency influx of immigrants into the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs,” KBR said.

Only a few independent journalists, such as Peter Dale Scott and Maureen Farrell, have pursued what the Bush administration might actually be thinking.

Scott speculated that the “detention centers could be used to detain American citizens if the Bush administration were to declare martial law.” He recalled that during the Reagan administration, National Security Council aide Oliver North organized the Rex-84 “readiness exercise,” which contemplated the Federal Emergency Management Agency rounding up and detaining 400,000 “refugees,” in the event of “uncontrolled population movements” over the Mexican border into the United States.

1. Very Scary.
"...the American people might legitimately ask exactly what the Bush administration means by the “rapid development of new programs,” which might require the construction of a new network of detention camps. "

3. republican "concentration camps", bush "secret police" ---->
time for dems to start using the correct language to frame the debate, for these camps are concentration camps, as is the one
in guantanamo bay.

7. ITT Tech running ads for studies for 'careers in law enforcement'
Had TV on History Channel while working the other day. There was one of those ITT Tech commercials on. Not pushing courses for computer skills (jobs being outsourced), or vet assistants (maybe people will be eating dogs and cats soon?). This one was for courses 'to prepare you for a career in law enforcement'.

Oh, joy, an academy for rent-a-cops who fail the psych appraisal to work in public police departments. Been waiting for this. Give a little authority to people who should not have it and you will have a lot of serious abuse pretty damned soon.

Didn't the Nazis hand out uniforms and badges to a lot of ill suited petty control freaks and wannabe sadists? Knew it would happen here soon enough.

Having a bunch of neighborhood human attack dogs who will do anything for a bit of approval from someone in power is the next step to keep America in line now that people are waking and grumbling. And with dwindling employment opportunities, this will be the new growth industry for the dense and hate filled.

We be in trouble, folks.

4. Making reloads as fast as our damn fingers can.
Just in case....again I state, if I am going down, I will be taking as many assholes with me as possible.

You know what else? I am DAMN tired of being slightly scared/nervous all the time about what the next horrible thing our government will do. It is like clockwork too....spook politics is getting very tiring.
