I just received a phone call from a 'polling group'. |
|
that was very obviously pro-Bush.
Questions like - Do you consider yourself pro-life? Well, duh. But, of course, there was no way to answer that I am pro-choice. :eyes:
Also, do you think the sanctity of marriage should be reserved for one man and one woman? Yes or No.
Do you think Bush is doing a good job? Yes or No.
Idiots. At the end of the call, I said he was a fucking nitwit and should be impeached and imprisoned.
Wonder how well that will go over?

it was probably the white house or CNN trying to put together another poll to show that most americans believe women should be and stay preggers whenever they're not being subservient to their husbands and lords, and that the sanctity of living should be reserved for heterosexuals and that Bush is our personal lord and savior.
"A recent poll shows that MOST AMERICANS say . . ."

9. During the last election, I kept getting phone calls from bush* |
|
It was a recording and started with "This is the president of the United States." It certainly sounded like his slurring speech. So I called the county repukes headquarters and said if I got it one more time I would call the police and complain about harassment. I mean really, three times I pick up the phone and his disgustingness is telling me to vote for him and his mafia buddies. I didn't get another one after that.

11. don't answer this crap |
|
Do what I do - ask THEM questions.
Sometimes when you get confrontational, they crack. In one case, I couldn't get in a word edgewise.
Information on people is a commodity these days. Could be anyone.
The possibilities for profiling Democrats and gathering information on them is very real.
Be direct and tell them you don't know who they are and that you're not buying their line.

12. That's obviously a "push poll" - i.e. not a 'poll' at all. |
|
First off we have the misnomer "pro-life" instead of "anti-choice" ... a position that's "anti-life" when it comes to the life and rights of a woman, usually "anti-life" when it comes to the death penalty, and usually "anti-life" when it comes to the invasion and occupation of Iraq. It hijacks and corrupts the term "pro-life" for those of us (including me) who're against abortion secondary to being "pro-choice," against the death penalty, and against the invasion and occupation of Iraq with the murder of over 100,000 innocent Iraqis.
Secondly, and even more clearly, the use of the presumptive term "sanctity" when referring to marriage. That's NOT a secular term, but a religious one. Its use infers a narrow theocratic attitude - one of exclusion (excommunication) rather than inclusion - not consistent with the basic secular values and principles of a democracy.
The intellectual deceit and dishonesty of such a poll is the moral equivalent of public fraud.

That "pro-life" Q is a bitch to answer, because you can be pro-life without being anti-choice.

20. Oh, push-pollers are so much fun. |
|
I get written push polls from the POS state senator in my district. Completing those are wonderful creative writing opportunities. I usually add a note that reminds him that MY zip code isn't filled with the sort of self-centered Republicans that live in his area.

I doubt they'd be spending money tryint to figure out if right wingers still liked him if they weren't worried that he's losing his base of support.
