Why are they calling it a Civil War?
That's a "Yankee" word. Good Neo-Confederates should use something like:

"The War Between the Sectarian Factions"

It's a "Southern" thing.

1. We had a civil war here in England, so no it isn't a "Southern" thing
Things happened in the world before the creation of the United States of America.

3. That's as may be, but those things turned out not to be very important
After all there have been like a dozen miniseries about our civil war - you guys have that one clash song.

8. You are forgetting the English, Scottish, etc folk song tradition
And English literature, eg The Children of the New Forest.

4. Aversion to the word is a southern (USA) thing
Confederate hated the term "Civil War" and insisted (some even today) that it be refered to as "The War Between the States" and would correct you if you used the offending term. Since the pro-war crowd is loaded with neo-confederate southerners, I'm a bit surprised to see them using the "Offending" description.

2. Why not call it what it is.
It's a religious war, not a political war.

5. No, no...
It should be called 'The War for Insurgent Independence'.

(Many Southerners prefer 'War for Southern Independence" over 'War Between the States'.)

9. Good question. It's a RELIGIOUS WAR.
Of course, that might give religion a bad name and they are contributing enough money to our politicians to assure that it won't be refered to that way.
