HOW? Is there an conscietus objector kind of "No, I won't let the government touch my taxes" kind of thing?

1. Here's the easy way...
...get yourself one of those new high-wage service sector jobs Bushco has been so instrumental in creating. Then you won't make enough to have to pay taxes.

Peace.

2. I dunno
Maybe we should start a group that does not pay taxes if republicans win. Actually, republicans will probably join that group. If we all stopped paying taxes, they could not arrest us all. I wonder what would happen in such a hypothetical world.

4. Last year, I owed the government 3,000
and I only paid about $150 of it.

I shudder to think what I owe the government. I don't even make enough to cover anything. We got an new accountant, so let's hope she can work miracles for us.

6. You are in a mess of trouble.
And posting a tax protest article here could make that trouble MUCH MUCH MUCH worse.

5. If there was ever a reason not to pay your taxes - its now...
I actually believe in taxes. As Thom Hartman say, it is (or should be) an investment in your country...

But when my taxes actually go up, and millionaires taxes go down, and we are spending 300-400 Billion dollars for an illegal war (that simply just goes to those in the know)..

Then no...

7. I know a conscientious objector who hasn't paid income tax
in 20 years. He is not in jail. There was a recent case where they convicted a couple for the same thing and send them to jail. My friend says the only reason he is not in jail is that he is "low profile".

8. If there is one thing the Government has been good at
over the years, it is breaking the spirit of the non-rich and grinding money from them. Good luck.

9. I propose this idea
No taxes are deducted from our pay. At the end of the month, we send a check to the government in the amount that would have been taken. BUT, we direct where our tax dollars go. If I want to direct the money to the education of inner city youths, I think I should be allowed to do that. Am I wrong?

11. I wish! I've been thinking the same thing
I was unemployed for most of last year, but finally found a job last month. I had been on a very tight budget last year and had not contributed anything to my IRA as I didn't know how long I was going to be unemployed.

I started to figure my Federal taxes not too long ago and was dismayed at the thought of giving so much money to The Criminals in Power and their evil causes and ventures. I am fortunate to have quite a bit of savings (my "emergency" fund) left and my new job is going well, so I have decided to contribute the maximum ($4,000) I can to my IRA for last year. If I do that, I will pay $600 less in Federal taxes than I would if I didn't contribute anything at all.

I was amazed at how much satisfaction I got from deciding to do that. That's my big "f**k you!" to these asshats!

Peace...
