The "only for rape or incest" Republicans are full of it. |
|
Unless Republicans like McCain, Frist, and Graham, or any R governor who tow this line come out vocally against this South Dakota law (and I mean extremely vocal opposition), we need to put an end to the fiction that they truly believe that rape/incest victims are entitled to abortions.
I'm sick of them trying to have it both ways.

1. Yep, Do the GOP believe women should be forced to give |
|
birth to their rapist's child, or an incestual rapist's child?
Does the government wish to take over control of women's pregnant bodies?

2. if anti choice, then a 10 gets raped by father, she MUST have |
|
the baby. if a woman is dragged into bushes and raped and beaten near death or a woman is going to die in birth they MUST have the baby. there are no conditions. it isnt ok sometimes, and not other times. otherwise it isnt about the belief that it is murder, it is the belief that because a female says ok to sex, she must be punished and have the baby.
there is no condition
what about the 15 year old that will kill herself before telling her parents she is preg. surely that meets the high extreme of personal harm in delivering. but that girl will not have the option to abortion.
no..... these ball less wonders that condition when the abortion is ok or not MUST be called on it.

3. Their argument about not "taking an innocent life" falls apart ... |
|
... when they adroitly make an exception for rape or incest. Unless, of course, they persist in some ancient superstition regarding 'tainted blood' and somehow regard the resulting fetus as not innocent. If nothing else, this single contradiction displays the ethical bankruptcy of their posture.

7. Not for health, either. |
|
Only for the LIFE of the mother. If going to term means delivering a dead baby and being left sterile, she still has to go through with it. Only allowed if they can be SURE the the pregnancy will kill her.

6. AND the rapist/molester has PARENTAL RIGHTS. |
|
AND.. the victim could NOT give the child away for adoption if the "father" did not agree to it. So.. raped, beaten, impregnated.. forced to give birth to the MONSTER'S child. THEN you are forced to be involved with the pig for 18 years while you share custody of the fruit of their crime. WHen did America become Afghanistan???

10. And what if the rapist/molester is the girl's FATHER |
|
and has "parental rights" over the "mother" as well?
Might as well go back to the times when a father could throw his female babies away if he wanted to.

11. And who will decide... |
|
...if the woman was "really" raped and "really deserves" an abortion? The courts? Well, why not, they already do SUCH a great job looking out for rape victims. :sarcasm:
