Meme "trickle down" theory in action: http://www.philly.com/mld/dailynews/sports/13949101.htm

Episcopal's Ellington, Henderson in McDonald's All American Game

One of these mornings, we will awaken to the news that George W. Bush has resigned.

And that Wayne Ellington and Gerald Henderson are taking the oath to replace him.

Hey, why not? This tandem is getting every other special honor.

When Bush's putatively imminent resignation is casually mentioned in the Philly high school sports section, you know you've gotten somewhere.

1. How low were Nixon's poll numbers when he resigned?
Of course, with the poll takers fudging the numbers, he'll last longer.

2. Nixon 27%, so a way to go
Nixon, Gallup Poll, 11/1973

Approve 27%

Disapprove 63%

I'm afraid the 'base' will never desert their god.

3. George W. Bush has resigned.
when/if that day happens -- will Scottie dog say "President bush didn't know"?

I have this mental picture in my mind of a moving company boxing up things in the oval office, bush comes in and says "What's going on?"

moving guy: You've been removed from office.

bush: oh, I didn't know
