invoking a statement like that is meant to be a slam. Try reading again and remembering that cancer is a serious business. You could liken to be that anyone facing cancer is getting a taste of it like Lance. Extremely bad taste. Karma, they're bad people, etc.

a very cool statement....saying how he was shocked to see SOMEONE HE LOVES going through this.

She even addressed her "karma" problem in the past and said she took care of her ex-writing parters money wise...something she did not have to do. She said on a VH1 interview that her karma was good on that score.

But she did step over 2 people; to get to the top, very common that when someone is no longer good for your career and your not in love with them, you have to sever ties or they drag you down. Most don't kill themselves or drink themselves to death but.. (Read about Janice Joplin, she never recovered from firing her best friends, but they were iffy musicans) And yes, they were unhealthy people, but most artists are, that's why they can express things most can't bear to feel...

I know about this sort of thing in the music bizz, it's epidemic...if you can't take it, then you should get out. It's a cruel bizz.

I never liked her because of those rumors, but then she was anti-war and backed Kerry, I saw her in a new light.

Hope she gets well. She has become a great writer.

41. My husband has met Lance on multiple occasions and a good friend of his

knows Lance very well. I've never heard anything bad about Lance and I find it impossible to believe that Lance isn't by Sheryl's side even if it is no longer as her fiance and lover, but as a fellow cancer survivor and a friend. He has maintained a good relationship with his ex-wife and I've never heard anything negative about him or my husband's impression of him as being someone other than a good guy.

Why CNN or anyone would make comments like that is just plain insensitive and it clearly shows that they know NOTHING about the relationship of Lance and Sheryl. How dare they make that kind of insinuation and comment. Lance is probably sick with worry about her and trying to give her courage through this. They might never be an item again, but the guy is a good person who would be there for any cancer sufferer, and definitely someone he cared for.
