Seriously...some people are making predictions that things are going to get bad, that us poor dissidents are going to be targeted and even dragged from our homes and taken away to detainment camps. The pentagon wants to shut down our access to the net and marginalize us.
So if any of this comes to pass, what will you do? I'm really curious. If we're branded as traitors because we don't think this is what America should be, and start being dragged away by the jackbooted thugs, what CAN we do?
If our voices are silenced, and our cries go unheard, what will you do?

'Rise and Fall of the Third Reich' how small the Nazi party was in the early stages of it's rumblings. The majority, as we have seen, will do just about anything when in a state of fear. Fear is truly our enemy in all this. Without it the Bush Mafia would not be able to breath.

Yes, but Hitler's movement was blessed in that it came to power at a time when things were very rough (economically and psychologically) for Germans. Bush, unfortunately took over at a prosperous time, and things have only gone south since. Hitler, for his part had huge military successes that fed an inner hunger in the souls of Germans. He had brilliant tacticians and planners. In contrast, everything Bush touches turns to shit. A Third Reich movement might ultimately take place in the US, but Bush will not lead it.

7. We are already pretty much silent and our voices unheard |
|
well, unheard until Rush or one of his clones takes something out of context to ridicule the Left. We are already marginalized. We are necessary for the folks in power, if only as evidence that we're not a fascist state. We are also necessary because we buy things.
The Left is a big joke to the Right Wingers, and they aren't altogether wrong.

Blackwater or Aryan Nation thug torturing me. And I use the extreme because they will never get enough down-the street kids to rule us because too many are ingrained with the same stuff I am.
The question is what can we do now - and that is keep educating everyone and ask them to check it out for themselves and then teach others. The way people are joining together on the UAE sale is what is truly optimistic this week - it's not what George says he is optimistic about.
I think we have to resurrect the stories from the Nazis. We have to teach people how it was conducted there and anywhere else and get that into people's heads.
We have to have a vote.
I watched the Tavis Smiley programs on C-Span this morning - supposedly he is going to read two letters later today - one from Dean and one from Mehlman - Tavis seemed to give a clue that they are about voting (as related to Blacks)?
What really worries me is that 'someone' has gone as far as constructing prisons on unused military land and government land that is laying there ready to take millions of prisoners (as discussed on DU this week), then who and what is behind that that it spans presidencies. Or does Georges' handlers believe he is our last President?

13. It all start's on election night 2006 |
|
I have this reocurring premonition about election night 2006, it goes like this..
About 8pm, the election results are slowing being announced on the TV and internet. Result's show that democrat's are going to overwhelmingly take control of the both the House and the Senate. Polls have shown this for months ahead of the elections..
About 8:15, all internet traffic comes to a stop.. Then an annoucement on the major TV stations indicate that President Bush is going to make an important announcement at 8:30pm..
At 8:30, the President comes on the TV to announce that Homeland Security has uncovered a plot to "destroy democracy" in American by hacking into the electronic voting machines. The plot uncovered makes the results of the night "invalid" and until the plotters can be brought to justice, Bush declares Matial Law and invalidate the election results..
About 8:35, a military van pulls up outside my home and two military personal knock on my door..
What happens next is not pretty...
And as you can tell, I'm thinking of writing a short story about this..

14. If we react in fear of the jackboots, then the program of fear is working. |

The Gestapo was effective because the German people believed it to be effective, even when it was, in reality, a very small force. People turned in their friends/relatives/neighbors in fear that if they didn't they would be under suspicion.

|
Fear does strange things to people.
Moreover it will not happen. They will not drag "the dissidents" from their homes; they'll only take some. A percentage cleverly calculated to get the heads of the opposition and terrorize the rest into submission. Plus those unfortunate ones of course that the friendly Repub from next door denounced because he wants to be a Good American.

19. Americans aren't polite |
|
If this tactic is tried on a grand scale it will fail like everything else this administration tries to do.
If they try to drag me away for my beliefs, I will laugh my ass off because I will know that their time is coming to an end. And if all the Bush-haters I know are locked up together, it is not going to be long before we figure out a way to escape.
And then, watch out, NeoCon! You are all little chicken shits who are afraid to fight and who can't even handle your own weapons. Lotsa luck with your "takeover." Great job there containing Iraq!!!!!.....

21. It won't be necessary to imprison more than 1% ... there are other ways. |
|
Edited on Sat Feb-25-06 03:21 PM by TahitiNut
Political "undesirables" will find it difficult to be employed and, if employed, to get promoted. That's obviously easy in crony-controlled companies. For other companies, it's only necessary to use the leverage of relationships between companies ... i.e. refuse to deal with someone the other company promotes to buyer, sales representative, or other contact role. Then there're security clearances, "don't fly" lists, and other ways to screw 'em in their jobs. The kids of "undesirables" will have problems with some teachers and coaches. Turning the economic thumbscrews is enough to make a lot of people shut their mouths. For others, it doesn't take long for people to go from middle-class to homeless. Believe it!! For the recalcitrant, it doesn't take many visits from the 'authorities' to put the fear of Gawd in their bones. Then there's "suiciding" and "disappearing" them.
I seriously doubt there would ever be enough room in detainment camps for more than a million or so - that's all that would be needed. The only thing fascists would ever have to bother with is making sure that any organized resistance weak and fractured. That only takes two things: (1) make sure the primary opposition that exists is half-assed and (2) watch for nascent "rising stars" and take 'em out before they get attention.

When ** had the world's sympathy, he had an easy time finding people to do his dirty work.
Now, think of the majority of Americans who have indicated - by poll and in your own personal observations - that they are fed up with this Regime.
Doesn't it stand to reason that as the number of happy Americans decreases so too does the number of willing accomplices?
How many people would voluntarily become entangled in **'s web today? Not many, it seems. And it would take many accomplices to pull this off.
But I have been very wrong before about a great many things, so you can ignore me ;)
