I am a Democrat who believes in God. According to a VERY WISE ONE here on DU only 20% of the Dems don't believe in God!! Who are you?

5. I am wondering whether suspicion of Islam and of Arabs is not

clouding the political opportunity that the Ports issue presents in exposing
the hypocrisy and logical contradictions among the Republicans.

I also believe in God and think this may be a gift from above.

6. The port deal has nothing to do with islam, arabs or the UAE.

It has to do with simple American Security and American Economy.
Arab/Islam is a red herring and a Neocon talking point.

Not a good start on your part, frankly.

I'm not terribly religious, but I know many Democrats who are. So the "we don't believe in God" comment is highly offensive to many. And only a moron doesn't understand that Allah is simply the Arabic word for God. Democrats aren't morons, so that bit doesn't make sense either.

8. Maybe we should let them be morons and let Bush be Bush and

focus on the big issues while they destroy themselves in the quagmire of hypocricy,
bigotry and gread that they are in. This situation is a gift, but we may find a way
to ruin it.

If we do indeed win in the 2006 elections, we must make sure to remember the Mercy and Compassion of God when we deal with others. As to whether or not God gets involved in elections---well, I don't go that route.
