"free trade" agreements: why do they have to be hundreds of pages long? |

NAFTA was over 900.
CAFTA is over 2400.
For "free trade", why not just ahve one page that says "you and I will trade freely" followed by relevant signature lines?
Otherwise it's not free, and who is going to LOOK at the drivel in those 2400 pages?
