He was on cspan this AM, and he's a very impressive guy! He's also to be on 60 minutes tonight! Brian Schweitzer is Governor of Montana! From the cspan callers, he's atractive to both Dems & Pubs and his approval rating is in the 70% range.

On cspan, the host pointed out that there's a web site schweitzerforpresident.com. He asked Brian about that. So far at least, he said I don't know those folks, and I have the best job in the World right here in Mont.

I wonder if he could be persuaded?????

(edited for spelling of the Gov's name. ;o( )
(Edited AGAIN to clarify WHO I'm talking about!)

1. What has he done in California that deserves Presidential consideration?

From what I understand, he let Enron off the hook. He's just more of the same.

On edit: Never mind, I posted when I thought you were talking about Schwarznegger.

2. Um, I think you may want to Google his name
He's the progessive populist Democrat who's the governor of Montana, one of the most GOP states in the country, not the musclehead pretending to be the governor of California.

3. I believe the poster originally posted Scharzenegger's name on this
thread, then edited it. Look at his original post for the correction.

Then again, I could be having an old timer's moment.

6. I also thought you meant Arnold. If Sshweizer runs, he definately needs
go by his first name or something. Other people will do the same thing and think people are talking about the Republican Swartznagger. (sp) on both their names.

8. He said no, but few politicians can't be convinced.
I heard about him a little from other posts on DE, but since I live in Ga. I sure don't know much about MT. He's a good speaker who answered all the questions on TV the same way he would speak to you if it was a one on one conversation.

On cspan, he talked about all the different possibilities the US has in developing alternative fuels, how much oil each would be able to replace, and how the President should do as JFK did and call upon the Country to develope enough alternatives to eliminate the US dependance on foreign oil non-existant within 10 years. He also said what he was doing as Governor because Governors have the power to make things happen and not have to WAIT for a President to do so. He spoke about what he was doing to retrain Montana resident who've lost their jobs, and how he was bringing many more jobs to his State.

He also added the personal touch of how he gets up every day at 4:30AM, has breakfast with his dog at his side, goes to the internet to read the morning papers, and then he and his dog walk from the Gov. mansion to the Capital for their day of meetings and phone calls. He said some Pubs have criticized him for taking his dog to work with him because they didn't think it was appropriate. He laughed and said some polling co. did a poll on his dog being there, and his dog has better ratings than HE does.
